In the last years, climatic conditions as well as building regulations (energy saving regulations/EnEv) have changed, respectively tighten up, which leads to a constant increase of requirements.
Lightweight steel framing structures are usually insulated in the hollow space between the profiles, along with an over-insulation applied externally.
In comparison to solid construction, this results in slimmer structures while maintaining the U-value.
The illustration shows an exterior wall with an insulation of ca. 250 mm in total and a corresponding U- value of 0,2 W/m²K.
