History

Over 75 years of tradition and innovation. Otto Häring founded the company in 1937 in Basel as a master in plaster work. Under the former name Häring Nepple AG, the company was a leading expert in specialized building solutions. 1997 was the birth of the Cocoon System. Today the company has over 20 years of experience in the lightweight steel construction method.

During this time, Cocoon System components could not only prove themselves in numerous building extensions, exterior walls and houses, but also in the realization of ambitious projects planned by world-famous architects: Herzog & de Meuron, Renzo Piano or Daniel Liebeskind.

Since the beginning of 2016, the company trades under the name Cocoon System AG. In 2016, the company was belonging at 50% to the Knauf group. Since 2022, Knauf owns the entire company.
