Europe-wide valid approvals of construction systems are becoming more and more important because approvals simplify the building and quality assurance. Process and calculation rules for building systems are being arranged and documented in the approvals. For this reason we have decided to let our lightweight steel system “Transformer” be proved on the ETA guide lines. (ETA = European Technical Approval)

The Cocoon Transformer system is registered under the ETA no. 11/0105. The approval arranges the structural behaviour of walls and ceilings, considering the planking material. Furthermore all connections and fasteners are defined.

Due to the ETA approval an authoritative base is given to planners as well as fabricators, which considerably simplifies the entrance in the lightweight steel construction method. The implementation of the Cocoon lightweight steel constructions, with its attribute of non-combustibility, gives for example carpentries a great opportunity to enlarge their business segment. With the already existing equipment, like for example a Weinmann Multi-function bridge, Haubold nail technology or a cadwork 3D-CAD/CAM system, can be realised stairways, public buildings and also multi-story buildings without any concerns of non-combustibility.
